The parable of "The Emperor's New Clothes," written 1837, still feels fresh and new today. In Andersen's story, an emperor is persuaded by a pair of swindlers that the cloth they weave is invisible to anyone who is unfit for his position, or who is especially stupid. None of his advisors are willing to admit that they see nothing, and soon the emperor is parading down the street in his birthday suit...
